2013 and 2014 were robust years for health care outreach and expansion. Puente advocated for a new county-funded health clinic for the South Coast, which started serving farms and neighborhoods in 2015. For the first time, Puente brought healthcare providers “into the field” to treat farm and nursery workers and their families. We conducted the first-ever South Coast health survey to better reach those without reliable access to health care. Puente is the bridge to integrated physical and behavioral health and wellness services including fitness; preventive health care; health coverage enrollment; and individual and group counseling for children, youth and adults.
