Puente offers new internship program

This year, Puente youth staff began serving as interns with nonprofit organizations, local government, and individual professionals including the City of Half Moon Bay Finance Department, Coastside Chamber of Commerce, Davenport Resource Center,and  Coastside Hope. In future weeks, interns will work at the Pacifica Resource Center and the San Mateo County Bar Associaton as well as other professionals. Funding for the project is provided by the San Mateo County Workforce Investment Board, TomKat Foundation, and individual donors.

Youth staff begin first of 3-day block programs

A new feature of Puente’s summer youth program consists of 6 three-day blocks that cover topics such as philanthropy, law and politics, etiquette, job skills, and the environment.

In week one, topics covered social and media etiquette.
