Community Mental Health & Wellness
Puente’s Community Mental Health and Wellness (CMHW) program, provides free accessible, high-quality, and culturally relevant mental health services with bilingual English/ Spanish mental health professionals at no cost to individuals and families living or working in Pescadero, La Honda, San Gregorio, and Loma Mar.
We use Trauma Informed Care Approach as the foundation of our programs and services. Trauma-informed care emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety for both participants and providers and helps survivors rebuild a sense of control and empowerment. It is an ongoing process which involves understanding, recognizing and responding to the effects of all types of traumas.
At Puente, our staff, board members, and volunteers are trained in trauma-informed care guided by these principles.
