Below is a schedule for “commuter” rides to Stanford and USGS — however, upon request, we can also have shopping trips on Fridays, August 24th and 3st to either Half Moon Bay or Sequoia Station/ Trader Joes in Menlo Park. Please contact me if you are interested in either of those dates.
General Information
Cost for the SamCoast bus trips is $3.50 each way (paid when you get on the bus) and you have to make a reservation no later than the Tuesday beforehand. I have reserved the bus for some Thursdays and Fridays in August to commute to both Stanford and USGS and, for now, I’ll serve as the conduit between those wanting rides and our scheduler at SamCoast. You can either email me at lahondalynnette@earthlink.net or call (650) 747-0605 and leave name, phone, the number of people who will be going and the trips you’d like to sign onto. One very important thing to keep in mind is that the more people who take advantage of this service (especially these preliminary trips), the more likely the possibility that we’ll be able to continue this program into the future.
From the information that I’ve received from potential riders, the bus will leave La Honda Post Office at 7:15 to arrive at Stanford at 8AM. Afterwards, the bus will take riders to USGS to arrive there around 8:15AM. Returning, the bus will leave Stanford at 5PM and get to USGS by around 5:15PM and home by around 6PM.
These are the dates I’ve scheduled for trips:
• Friday, August 10th (notify me no later than Tuesday, August 7th)
• Friday, August 17th (notify me no later than Tuesday, August 14th)
• Thursday, August 23rd (notify me no later than Tuesday, August 21st)
• Thursday, August 30th (notify me no later than Tuesday, August 28th)
We will have specific pick-up and drop-off points and times. Please try to be a little early for your return trip.
A note about the buses: SamCoast buses carry up to 18 people. There is plenty of room for shopping bags or small carts. If people have special needs such as a wheelchair lift, please let me know when you call to reserve your spot.
