Position Description– Interns will work alongside experienced Park rangers and aides to develop skills in park interactions with the public, maintenance, and management. Opportunity to assist park staff in various other projects and gain experiences with other departments: Interpretation, Natural Resources, etc.
Tasks will include:
- trail maintenance (trail brushing, tread repair)
- campsite and picnic area maintenance (site clean-up, including litter removal, and repairs when needed)
- restroom and shower maintenance (clean up, including cleaning restrooms, and repair of equipment)
Skills taught:
- Tool handling and basic maintenance
- San Mateo County Park trail standards
- basic trail building terms and techniques
- equipment use and maintenance
- general safety practices
- customer service
Trainings & Other Benefits:
