Youth Leadership groups raise money to get new athletic equipment

Two  youth leadership groups at Pescadero Middle and High Schools gave back to their school by  raising funds for physical education uniforms. Every  6-12th grader will receive  a P.E. uniform so that students will no longer work out in their street clothes. They also raised money to replace old equipment, such as soccer field markers and the indoor soccer goal. The students raised $3,000 in total for this project with support from Puente youth group leader, Suzanne Hughes.  For more information, read a related article by the HMB Review.

Field trip to the San Francisco Zoo

On Mother’s Day weekend, the men from the La Sala program took a trip to the San Francisco Zoo. Twenty-two and ½ men attended: Juan Pedro took his ne-born baby, Jr.. They really enjoyed seeing the wild animals. Some of the men who went have been attending the ESL classes at Puente. Hence, they got a chance to practice what they have learned. Ruben read information about the animals to his colleagues. The weather was perfect, so we were able to enjoy our lunch outside the courtyards while watching the flying creatures.
