Chicana Latina Foundation is a non-profit organization providing rural and low income communitites with the basic building blocks necessary to adopt broadband technology.
IT staff of Chicana Latina Foundation has recently trained some of Puente’s Youth Staff as instructors to provide basic computer skills to adults. Some of the skills they will teach are:
- Turn on and off a computer
- Learn the parts of a computer
- Learn how to use a mouse
- Create an e-mail account
- Navigate internet’s useful websites such DMV,
- Introduce them to on-line real time communications tools, such skype
This organization is also providing computers to families conecting to the internet.
