After eight successful meetings, the C.A.R.O.N. Community Academy concluded their Violence Prevention Program delivered by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department and Puente staff.
Among the topics, participants learned about gang prevention, drug usage consequences, police enforcement practices and more information. Below is a description of one of the workshops related to drugs.
“Overall, with the Academy bringing Posters and other display to inform them about Drugs that are in our Community the audience was able to ask questions about each certain drug. The audience were showed how all these drugs were used. Some said they were “scared” because they didn’t know this. The audience seemed to learn a lot from the presentation.”
